It was established in August, 1940. It was created first as a sub-camp. It was an autonomous concentration camp.
During the war, it had closest to 125,000 victims of various nationalities. They were banned from medical care. They also couldn't talk to other prisoners.
This camp was also used for medical experiments using the prisoners. Soviet Prisoners of war were also killed here, who mainly died from starvation. This camp was liberated in early May, 1945 by Soviet Troops.
